Todays thought provoking question is what if there was no more oil? Lets ponder for a moment the possibility that we lose contact with that precious resource called oil. Not only does this cut us off of a resource for our plastics to be made but it also cuts off major transportation as well. Vehicles wouldn’t be seen on the roads after a mere two weeks of driving and soon everyone could be seen walking or biking where they need to go.

Yet how would this affect our economy as a whole? Currently we are already in dire straights when it comes to the economy in the U.S. so would this plummet us even further into economic hell? How would this affect life as a whole? How much would actually change in our lives if we lost this precious resource? These questions I leave to you, my readers.

The question today is what if Microsoft and Apple merged? Lets pretend for a moment that Microsoft and Apple put away their spike covered clubs and large sharp machetes to strike a deal. Lets say that they merged into one company so that they can each gain from each others ideas and solutions. Lets also pretend that they decided to make the best damned operating system known to man.

How would this affect our current computer market? What do you think this new company would be called? Would we see a new company emerge like a phoenix rising from the ashes of so much controversy? would Mac and PC fanboy’s alike throw down their gloves and embrace each other in a sick and twisted version of our favorite campfire songs? These questions I leave to you, my readers…

The question for today is what if humans were no longer affected by ailments? Lets just picture for a moment that scientists have found a panacea medicine that would fend off any disease that came our way? No more cancers, AIDS or any other disease or sickness for that matter. Imagine a world where you wouldn’t have to worry about another person’s germs or worry about sexually transmitted diseases. No more sick days to get us down and more importantly no more losing our loved ones.

How would this affect all the facets of our lives? Would we see this as a great blessing upon humanity? Would we use this to our advantage? How would this affect hospitals and doctors? Would we see more sexual activity amongst ourselves as a result of this? How would this affect us emotionally and mentally as a people? These questions I leave to you, my readers.

The question today is what if the U.S. legalized marijuana? Lets stop for a moment and pretend that the government devised a way that U.S. citizens could grow their own pot and they could still get money. Maybe they decided that you could purchase a growers card and had to have a business license to have a legal pot farm. So now jobs don’t care if you have THC coursing through your system anymore but they treat it just the same as alcohol (Which is worse IMO).

Would this lead the U.S. population down a path where there are fewer suicides each day and less stress at home? Would this lead everyone down a path that would turn most Americans into lazy rocks that sit in front of their television and vegetate their lives away? Would this move a lot away from the troubles of alcoholism? These questions I leave to you my readers.

Todays question is what if Pearl Harbor was never bombed? Lets say that for some odd reason japan decided that it would be a bad idea to bomb Pearl Harbor. Maybe they ate rotten fish that day and decided to stay home sick. Or maybe they decided not to separate their fronts and focus more on the whole of Asia (I still like the first answer). Our lovely soldiers at Pearl Harbor would have gotten some sleep and the day would have went on for many of the crew… and Hitler’s war machine would have pushed on.

So how long do you think it would have taken before the Americans would have stepped in? remember that at the time America was passive at that point and did not want to interfere until Pearl Harbor. With that not happening who knows how long or how powerful the Nazi war machine could have gotten. Also if we did step in at a later date do you think that the Nazi’s would have overwhelmed the American forces at this point? These questions I leave to you, my readers.

The question for today is what if there was no more internet? We all live in a society that has an online heart beat. Whether it be by blogging or by keeping in touch with each other through social networks such as Twitter or Myspace. Our businesses thrive online at a pace that brick and mortar shops only dream of. We buy our clothes, gifts, needs and pleasures of life on the internet. We have become integrated into a world where the internet is just as essential to life as vehicles or telephones.

What if one day not only did your home computers get infected but the whole of the internet network and all the backbone servers got infected by a virus that destroyed any system it was on. Also lets say we didn’t have any way to recover from this problem. How would we function as a whole? Would we go back to the days of pen, paper and calculator or would we plunge into chaos and disarray without our digital extremeties? I leave these questions to you, my readers.

Todays thought provoking question is what if the government was behind 911? This question is not to promote anti-government thinking but to bring up a possibility. As with any government ours has the possibility of being corrupt at its utmost core. What if we attacked our own people that one fateful day as an excuse to get over onto Middle Eastern soil? What if this was just an issue over oil?

How would the United States let alone the World react to finding this out? Would we retaliate with some sort of force and do you think they would respond with martial law? Do you think that we would just turn the other cheek to save our security and comfort of knowing we are at least somewhat protected against other enemy threat? These questions I leave you, My faithful readers.

The question I pose today is what if technology was destroyed? We all rely on technology in one way or another. We rely on the news from our television to give us the weather and our vehicles to get us to and from work. We even use technology to do most business nowadays whether its with a blackberry or managing team projects through task management software. We NEED technology whether we like it or not… not because we can’t survive with it inherently as human beings but because we have become so dependent on it as a society of civilized people.

Now lets say one day an EMP large enough to spread over the whole world was released and it took out all the technology that runs off of computers and microchips. Lets say that now anything that deals with electronics is fried to the core. How would we cope with this sudden change in our lifestyle? How would we adapt to such an extreme change? What would our lifestyle convert to without these dependancies? These questions I leave to you my readers.
